Cylinder head is the heart of the engine, no matter how good the other parts are, once the head is leaking, all the efforts will be wasted. The materials and techniques we apply to manufacture your cylinder head gaskets can make sure your engine has a strong heart.
Cylinder Head Gasket Function
What is the function of head gasket? The cylinder head gasket sits between the engine block and cylinder head, which is an important part within the combustible engine. It acts as a barrier and helps to prevent the fluids from leaking into the cylinders. Besides, the head gasket blocks off passage to the oil and water.
Materials of Cylinder Head Gasket
The materials not only need to have the ability to survive under high temperature and high-pressure environment but also need to withstand various chemical gas/liquid. One of the most commonly used materials for manufacturing cylinder head gaskets is graphite.
Graphite has excellent flexibility for high pressure and can endure the heat up to 450 Celsius, technicians precisely attach graphite sheets onto evenly and densely perforated metal sheet in order to reinforce the graphite adhesion force and then combine with the core metal.
We have cylinder head gaskets for major diesel engines such as Caterpillar, Cummins, Detroit Diesel and more.
