What is an Intake Manifold Gasket?
The intake manifold is located on the top of the engine and plays a key role in the combustion process. It’s as important as a nose for a human being because the internal combustion engine relies on the intake manifold to help it breathe.
Besides, the intake manifold makes sure that the air coming into the engine can distribute to the cylinders and it also helps cooling down the cylinders to prevent the engine from getting excessive heat. However, the performance of your engine depends on the quality of your intake manifold gasket.
Materials of Intake Manifold Gasket
The intake gasket is usually made from single layer of steel or graphite, and it seals the intake manifold to the engine. Therefore, they must be resistant to decay caused by oils and coolants.
